Poetry Contest: Calling all “quarantined” high school students!
Date: April 24, 2020
**News provided by Florida Humanities Council**
Poetry often serves as a source of inspiration during challenging times, whether poets are trying to understand moments like the horrors of war or personal tragedies. Florida Humanities is encouraging high school students across the state to creatively capture their experiences through the prism of poetry.
We want you to flex your creative muscles to produce a poem that captures your thoughts and experiences of our current moment. After our judges select the top poems, we will hold a public vote. The top three winners will each receive:
- A $500 cash prize
- Publication in a future issue of our FORUM Magazine
- And the opportunity to share your poem at a public program!
Start your creative process today! Poems must be entered by May 15th. Check out the Florida Humanities Council website for more details.
