Emergency Relief Grants for Humanities Organizations Now Available!

Announcing New Emergency Relief Grants
for General Operating Support
Florida Humanities is offering up to $2 million in grant funding to humanities organizations that continue to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications for these grants, which are part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARP) of 2021, are due September 1, 2021.
Funding is available for general operating support such as salaries for internal staff and contracted employees; rent/mortgage; utilities; insurance; and technology. Awards will be up to $25,000 for eligible organizations with annual budgets of less than $2 million.
Applications will only be accepted from organizations such as museums, archives, historical societies, and cultural centers whose primary mission is humanities-focused or can demonstrate a substantial track record of regularly occurring public humanities work. All applicants must also be able to demonstrate continued financial hardship due to the direct effects of the pandemic.

- Application deadline: September 1, 2021, at 12 pm EST – All applications will be competitively reviewed in one funding cycle.
- Informational webinar: July 30, 2021, at 9 am EST. Register to attend.
- Funding notification: Week of October 18, 2021
- Funding period: November 1, 2021 – July 31, 2022, with eligible pre-award costs dating back to March 15, 2021, also allowable for support
